Hug hug, kiss kiss

Yesterday in Orlando, Florida, Barack and Hillary were all hugs, kisses, and smiles.

I had actually predicted such an event occurring on January 22nd this year in one of my comments on another blogsite.

The blog author had despaired of the Democratic party's fracturing itself beyond repair. I wrote, "... ... But, wait! We have the kiss & make up scenes at the convention to look forward to!"

Author had responded, "... ... I don't know that everybody's going to be willing to kiss and make up later."

Well, I was way off on the date, but not on the occurrence.

What a charade!

How about this as a fantasy?

Whoops, that deleted comment was from me. Wanted to rephrase what I wrote. :)

Oh my goodness, did I have to do a double-take on THAT photo! :)

I liked your post the other day on laughing at oneself. Nice to keep it all a bit light-hearted even though it's so serious this time around.

I sure wish you hadn't deleted your first comment, Tammy! Would you mind either re-posting it or sending me an e-mail with its contents? I liked it, and was going to respond to it later.

OK, lol. I kinda thought maybe I should keep my political opinions to myself on someone else's blog post. lol But here is what I typed originally:

Oh my goodness, did I have to do a double-take on THAT photo! :)

Here's my real-true-wish-in-my-heart-fantasy:

Pres: Collin Powell
Vice-Pres: Mitt Romney

Um. Not going to happen. lol. And yes, I know I'm a big "D," but wouldn't that be nice? Well anyway, it would in my world. lol.

Glad you are keeping things so light with this whole presidential election. I'm just not completely sold on either of them. Choosing the lesser of 2 evils, in my opinion.

But I wanted to say, I liked your post the other days on laughing at oneself. Nice to keep it all a bit light-hearted even though it's so serious this time around.

Thanks for re-posting, Tammy.

I was just interrupted in my immediate response to your re-post by a call from the dermatologist's office saying that WellCare did not have me in their records -- blew my mind -- an impossibility!!!

I'm going to have to post a more thoughtful reply either later this evening or tomorrow when I can think straighter (am playing bridge with Bob tonite).

My initial reaction to your hesitancy in making your personal views known on someone else's blog was, "This is my friend, Tammy. She can post **** near whatever she wants to on my blogsite!"

Anyhoo, sweetie, I'll talk atcha later. Am waiting for a callback from the dermatologist's office and am not in the best of moods right now!

Personally, I think Bush should have chosen Colin Powell as his VP running mate when he was going up against Clinton. Then, no matter what Ross Perot did, Bush would have been re-elected.

As much as I highly regard Powell, he's two months older than I am, Tammy, and that's too old (imo) to be running for President.

Mitt Romney, on the other hand, I don't know very much about. I wish he could have gained a little more support in the early parts of the race and lasted longer.

My favorite dream candidate is Joe Lieberman. He hasn't been running. I wish he had. He's 66 now, which is a really good age (again, imo) to be President.

Every election is important, Tammy, not just this one. I don't like the way things are going any more than anyone else, but my daughter's gotten involved enough in this year's election to fulfill any family 'required involvement' quotas.

She early-voted Monday, then said that she was going to stay away from politics for awhile. Fat chance of that! She eats, lives, and breathes the stuff.

I try to stay away from all the 'crap' flying around out there, and if there's something funny I pounce on it!

Well, yes, Powell is too old for pres now, that is just my fantasy. lol. I wish he would have run in 1996, though.

Ross Perot. Haven't thought of that little pipsqueak in a very long time.

Yes, every election is important. I think getting our 401k quarterly report the other day about sent me over the edge. Poor, sad little stocks. lol Shouldn't even think of it I suppose. One way or the other, whoever wins the election has an enormous job ahead of him putting our country back together in so many ways.

I wish it were all over and decided. But then....after the election we'll have to either wait for recounts or listen to how the voting system wasn't fair for the losing candidate.

"That little pipsqueak" ... exactly the phrase I used to describe him in one of my prior political posts! :)

Totally agree with your last paragraph. A real turnoff!!

Remember what I said about DD? She's published only four times since she told me (and the whole blogging world) that 'she's a spectator now', that 'she's going to stay away from politics for awhile.' :)
