I had to turn off the news just now.
The lead story was of a possible assassination attempt on Barack Obama's life.
I do not happen to be an 'Obama mama' (or even an 'Obama grandma', for that matter) ... I try to be independent in my thinking.
To tell you the truth, I really am not sure WHOM I will vote for a week from tomorrow.
There have been a couple of times in the past when I have written my own name in. I kid you not here! (This will not be one of those times, altho I am sorely tempted.)
But to try and assassinate a Presidential candidate??!!??
No! NO!! NO!!!

Emily's comment was, "Oh Mama, our world is so messed up."
Such a sad mess we (in general) are leaving for our children and grandchildren to have to deal with..........
I was always worried should Mr. Obama get "in" things of this nature may occur. I don't like it at all, I just fear that there are too many people who feel that a reasoned debate and dialogue is beyond their capacity, and thence resort to violence, which I abhor.
We need, yes WE, need a strong leader with compassion and courage to lead the U.S AND the world thru these uncertain times.
"... a reasoned debate and dialogue is beyond their capacity ..." ... ... neatly phrased, Craig.
Politics is a huge turnoff for me, in general, and this year is no exception. Unfortunately, I see no 'strong leader with compassion and courage' on the horizon and am not particularly hopeful this time around, either!
My daughter, who's an 'Obama mama' and authors a blog whose content is mainly political, hasn't posted in nearly a week now.
One little piece of good news, tho ... DGD made the volleyball team!
