Body Worlds 2, the Brain ...

... is the exhibit I plan on viewing this coming Monday.

I was just looking up more info on it via the Internet, and it appears as tho there is more than just a little controversy over this.

See this site for the latest info. I'll be keeping you informed as I learn more.

The only reason I'm referencing this today is because, as they say on the site, "A major contributor to this article or its creator appears to have a conflict of interest with its subject. It may require cleanup to comply with Wikipedia's content policies, particularly neutral point of view."

I thought that those of you who might be interested in learning more about this topic as it's currently presented should have an opportunity to read this article before it's altered, if indeed it will be.

Wish I could tag along...this looks like a fascinating exhibit!

I would have not-so-good feelings if some of the remains were from people who had not given consent to have their bodies used this way. Maybe I read too fast, but I didn't see any sort of that actually established with this exhibit (although I caught the stance the Catholic church has taken). Much can be learned educationally and scientifically from donors.

That being said (and you KNEW you'd hear my opinion, lol!) I think it looks intriguing. That "reclining pregnant woman" is amazing, simply amazing. Oh, I wish I could tag along!!! :)

Goldenrod,
Ah...I was so intrigued by this exhibit that I made a trip to Las Vegas in 2005 to see it. It is absolutely amazing. I think you will be seeing a lot more than I did at the time though...I saw mostly runners and upright figures. Now they have a lot of others as well. you will love it! But sadly no pictures were allowed when I went...maybe it has changed since; but I doubt it.

Hi, Whale! It wouldn't do me a bit of good if cameras WERE allowed, because I don't own one ... at least, not digital. DD does, but not I.

I am SO looking forward to going to this exhibit. I'll try and give a reasonably good recap of it Tuesday. It's DEfinitely on my schedule for Monday!

Tammy - I wish you could be here, as well, to take this in. I've heard so much about it - thought it was more than about time I viewed it for myself!

Just finished re-reading the Wiki write-up. Didn't notice any changes, but I didn't make a copy of the one I referenced a couple of days ago, either, so there might have been a word or two changed here or there and I wouldn't have known the difference.
