Munising memories

Do you remember the days when all of the women wore hats?

This photo was taken at Pearl Cleven's wedding reception, probably either 1955 or 1956. She was one of my best friends when we lived in Munising.

That's me with the glasses on right in front of the bride and groom. Mom's coming up right behind me. Just click on the photo if you'd like to enlarge it.

Talk about a blast from the past! I wonder where she is now?

I've got my scanner back, obviously, and have been practicing like mad. Look for more stuff like this in posts to come.

Hey there friend, I'm getting my GOLDENROD fix for a quick couple of minutes on my dad's laptop. :)

I love the photo. Your daughter (photo you posted a couple of weeks ago) looks an awful lot like your mother...

Hey there yourself, friend! Am tickled that all of you made it safely and in one piece to California.

I get the biggest kick out of you, Tammy! My daughter looks NOTHING like my mother (or me, for that matter). More pix coming your way soon. Stay safe, keep enjoying your trip and I'll talk atcha soon!

Luv, me

Hmmm...I'll have to go back and look at the photo you posted again. I agree...I don't think the 2 of you look much alike, but something sure reminded me of your daughter when I looked closely at your mother.

And yes, we made it in one piece. The original plan was to drive from Idaho Falls to Mesquite, NV in a day, then Mesquite to Idyllwild, CA in another day. I felt adventurous and made the trip in one day. 16 hours. Took me a day or 2 to recuperate, but it was worth it to have an extra day here. GORGEOUS. :)

Will visit your blog in a few days for another Goldenrod fix. ;)

Sure could use some of your really sage advice right about now, Tammy. (Talking about my latest post.) SO good to hear from you ... huggle puggles to everyone!

Isn't that the truth, Steven? Why the devil was I looking down, for crying out loud! Why was my mother smiling and not me? Wild, huh? We could speculate out the wazoo with this one and not be able to come up with a definitive answer. (And no, I didn't know him [he was an out-of-towner] ... ergo, Pearl did not "steal" him from me.) Forever a mystery, I guess! LOVED your comment!! (I'd been thinking much the same myself.)
