Bits & pieces ...

Boy, this'll really be scattered, so I thought it would be best if I highlighted in bold each section - little or big, depending on the topic. Ready? Here we go ... ...

Dentist ...

I received a letter within the past week from the dentist whom I have seen and trusted 'off and on' for the past 30+ years. He's retiring. Dagnabit it! I hate change, particularly changes like this one!!

Why did I write 'off and on'? Well, there was a period of time there when I got into a snit and saw someone else for awhile. Not the best of decisions, but far down the line, actually, of bad decisions I've made. Far far down the line.

Anyhoo, he's 'selling his practice' to someone I've never heard of. (So what else is new? It's a big city.) SO, on my list for later today is to call and try and schedule an appointment for him to see me before his last day, which is next week!!! Ye Gods!!!! Me and 40,000 other people, no doubt. In fact, I'd better do that just as soon as I finish this post, huh? More later on the results of my phone call.

Ghost Whisperer ...

Did not watch Friday night. It was a rerun. Will be watching again this coming Friday to see what's going on in this series that has re-captured my attention. Will give you a full report Saturday, probably.

Orange Cinnamon Rolls ...

At the risk of what Steven termed turning this into a 'foody blog', there's a recipe that I'd like to share with you. I probably got it from Tammy, but I can't be sure. It sounds absolutely delicious, and should be perfect for the holidays - or any days, for that matter! Here it is ...

Cut the top off an orange ... hollow out the insides. Once orange is cleaned out, unroll canned cinnamon roll dough and wind into orange in a spiral. It may take more than one to fill the orange. ("Why not just hollow out two oranges and use three cans of cinnamon roll dough?" is my question! Makes sense to me, but you have to keep in mind that I haven't tried these yet!!) Place top back on orange and cover with foil. Cook either on open fire (?!?) or bake in oven @375 degrees for about 15 minutes, or until cinnamon rolls are done. They will have a nice orange flavor. (Well, I guess!)

Please share any of your success/failure stories.

SPAM report ...

I don't know how many pieces of this c-r-a-p you guys get each day, but let's just say I probably get my share.

I request an 'opt out' (for that which I never opted for in the first place!) every chance I get, and am having some success - not a lot, but some.

This past week, however, I have actually been making copies of some of the different types. I'm not going to go into detail about these in this post - "Thank you, Goldenrod," you say? - , but I am keeping track of all (along with their URLs, etc.) and intend to send them in bulk to the proper authorities for disposition as they see fit.

One word of warning - extreme caution, if you will - a couple of them want a copy of either my passport or driver's license. That's a new one. Folks, that is an absolute no-no! Under NO circumstances should you give anyone a copy of either of those items!!

Assisting God in a miracle ...

Somewhere in the past week, I read about a mother describing pregnancy and childbirth as being a unique opportunity to assist God in a miracle. I say 'Amen' to that!

Geez, I hope this doesn't sound sacrilegious here - my mind works in extremely convoluted ways (Now you know for sure!) -, but I was somehow reminded of Klinger in many of M*A*S*H's episodes. You know, the ones where he is trying to get out of the Army because his sister's dying/pregnant, his father's on his death bed, his mother's dying/pregnant (must have been the pregnant parts that reminded me), etc., etc.

I really miss seeing all of the reruns that Channels 20 and 26 used to show. Haven't called yet to complain or inquire as to when they might be putting this series back in their schedule. Need to do that. Spent quite some time these past few days on YouTube watching little clips. Laughed a lot.

Well, as you can probably tell, I'm feeling somewhat better. Hope you're OK. (?)

Well, folks, Tammy DID try the grape salad - family gave it three yeas and two nays. Orange cinnamon rolls are on tap for this morning, I think she told me. Hope she lets us know the results of that experiment! :)
