Along the Way .. #4

Hi, all!

Just a short post to let you know that I am in Amherst, NH, with my family, safe and sound.

I arrived yesterday, late afternoon. Started driving Wednesday from Wooster, OH around 4:30pm, right after playing a session of duplicate bridge, and just kept on driving every time I woke up from a short nap or resting a few minutes with my eyes closed until - finally - I could not force another driving muscle to move even one more inch and pulled over at a rest stop about 70 miles away from Troy, New York at 6:30am Thursday morning, where I actually got a couple of hours of sleep in a car that was almost toasty warm with the morning sun streaming in the windows.

Started a post about that drive last night, but then realized I couldn't finish it because I didn't have all my data in hand and organized.

There will be several more posts in this series .. at least five or six, I would imagine. So, look for those. Think you'll find them of interest. And, perhaps you'll get a laugh or two.

Meanwhile, I'm ok. How are you doing?

I'm sooooooo glad you arrived safe and sound. Thank you for letting us know...I am sure there are many of us who have had you in our thoughts and prayers.

Lots of love, Goldenrod,

Tammy and the girls :)

Glad that you got to New Hampshire safely.
Looking forward to reading more "Along the Way" stories!
I e-mailed pictures today.

Thanks, Tammy (and girls). Me, too.

Jacky, I got the pix. Think they turned out great! Look for at least two of them coming your way in a post sometime soon. :)

I'm glad you made it home! If you see my post from yesterday you'll see that Chloe the Flamingo is adjusting nicely to life in Ohio.

Hi Goldenrod,
I'm waiting for "the rest of the story!"

Me too!

I haven't seen a post from you in a while. Hope all is going well in your new location.
Bet you have lots of stories to tell, once everything slows down just a little.
My thoughts are with you and wishing you new adventures and fun.

Has anyone heard anything from Goldenrod through an email or phone conversation? I emailed her some time ago and have heard nothing back. Just curious..and a little worried.

Hi Tammy --

I'm sorry you've been worried.

She's here in New Hampshire, but not blogging at all anymore (not sure why). Her health has been very bad, though, and that's possibly part of the reason.

I think that you are checking in because whatever the Korean guy says keeps disappearing!
I wish you would write something about your trip. I think you have a good story to tell and I would really like to see you write more.
Beverly asked about you today on e-mail. You don't know it but she kind of "ran away from home" after you left.

Tammy said...

LOL, Jacky I've wondered too with all of those comments disappearing. :)

Polimom, thanks for updating us a little bit on Goldenrod.

And Goldenrod...if you do read this, please know you are loved AND missed. xoxo

Friends of Goldenrod --

Many of you know by now, I think, that I'm her daughter. She's given me permission to write about what's happening with her, and so I've posted today (here).

And while I can't promise that I'll write often -- or even that I'll write on a subject you'd be interested in (like Goldenrod) -- you're welcome to check back on my blog now and again. (My blog is here.)

If there are updates, that's where they'll be.

My mother, Goldenrod, passed away early this morning (September 11th).

Polimom, Thank you for letting us all know. She will be missed by her friends. At least she has left so much of herself in these pages. Thank you.

I omitted to add how much we loved her, and how you will all be in our thoughts and prayers.
